Introduction

Hello everyone! 

 I love classic films! No cuss words or gore (in the horror films) were needed to get the point across in a plot. Just a kiss could get the point across as to how much in love the characters playing a couple really were such as the chemistry between Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall and also between Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn. Also in Lon Chaney's films, there's no need for dialogue because Lon could express it all in just his facial expression and gestures alone. Quite frankly, this is really how I like films whether they're colorized or in black and white. 

This blog will be about my favorite film stars from the 1920's - 1960's. When their birthday comes, I will post a photo of them in remembrance.

One of my favorite Spencer Tracy films

A few weeks ago, I watched the movie Boys Town and very much enjoyed it. Spencer Tracy plays the part of a priest named Father Flanagan who creates a home for troubled boys. The more the population of boys grows, the more he realizes that he needs to build a bigger area. So he asks for help from not just the boys, but also from a shop manager named Dave (played by Henry Hull) to help him with the funds. Few have faith that creating the new home could happen and what makes things more difficult is an unruly young man named Whitey brought to the home (played by Mickey Rooney). Despite Whitey's bad behavior, Father Flanagan has faith that he can change. He always thought that "there is no such thing as a bad boy." Eventually the home is complete and Whitey changes his ways. I liked the fact that all the boys in the home had someone to talk to and who would listen to whatever may be bothering them. Kids deserve to be listened to and cared for, just like in this movie...
